(please forgive my reconstructed picture...it was already cut in half before I thought to document it:)
So, you start with a basic girls tunic type shirt.
I cut the top just below the arm pits in a straight line all the way around.
Decide what fun fabric you want for the bottom of the dress
(this happens to be an old shirt.)
It is one simple straight stitch all the way around.
I did add a little flower on top as well.
The bottom of the shirt turned upside down makes a simple little skirt for spring!
