just one more way to make a headband.
keeping in the tradition of cutting up old shirts:)

a little hot glue and an old headband...

wish I had a better after picture, oh well.
a little fancy for free, can't beat that.
I will use the rest of the flowers for clips, or maybe a pin.
The shirt itself will be cut up and made into more flowers.

ruffle my feathers

We love ruffles.
Both of us have been making ruffle pants for the girls for years.
They are simple and quick to make from scraps you have on hand.
The best part is, when your daughters favorite jeans get too short,
you can add on length with a cute ruffle.
Try it on leggings & cords too.
I have also made worn leggings into biker shorts with a ruffle which look really cute with a matching tunic for summer.

FYI

Even though the occasional sales have ended...
Mama's Happy has decided to keep most of our merchandise in their gift shop!
They don't have room for the clothes right now, but everything else is there.
If you need a gift for someone, check it out.
They are open most weekends.

roll with it

What?
An old daddy shirt and a roll of paper towels.
It all started as we were trying to figure out how to display our handbands for sale...
I bet you didn't know that a roll of paper towels is just about perfect!

Because it isn't the prettiest of displays, we decided to do what we are best at...
I am pretty sure that both of our closets must live in fear of what will bite the dust next,
if we can't find what we need in our scraps, the closet is the next stop.
Sleeves work perfectly for this project, it makes it no sew!
Just cut off at both ends and slide over the roll of paper towels.
We chose to take the plastic off, it just feels nicer and is less noisy that way.
Tuck your ends in and hot glue to the cardboard roll.
We used felted wool to cover the ends.
You could do this in so many ways,
however cutting small strips and gluing them on as a "flower"
proved to be really quick and cute.

Once the little lady saw our displays, she asked for a red one for her room.

table cloth ruffle pillow

Here is a sneak peak of a pillow you will see at the next Mama's Happy sale.
We are hoping to be there in November and December, more details to come...
I love the color of this pillow, it has a really soft suede texture and a down insert.
The ruffle was made from the edge of a vintage table cloth, and of course a doily to finish it off!
